Another Week, Another Bust-Up For Kate And Pete

London, England (AHN) - Kate Moss must regularly feel like she is banging her head up against a brick wall. Or perhaps she has low expectations regarding Pete Doherty's behavior. Either way, the supermodel has again been left on her own. Despite reports of getting married, which were quickly denied, the rock 'n' roll couple have fought while on vacation in Thailand - badly enough for the Baby Shambles front man to leave early. The love birds were expected back in London over the weekend, but the troubled rocker arrived alone on Friday morning and told fans he had a fight with his beautiful girlfriend. Knife attack ruins Christmas vacation

Police in Costa Rica are investigating after a Mississauga man was stabbed and his wife badly cut while the couple was on vacation this week. The trip was supposed to be about rest and relaxation, but Miroslav and Nadia Chuyko were lucky to return home with their lives. Police are searching for the culprit who attacked and robbed the Mississauga couple, stabbing Miroslav, 48, repeatedly and cutting his wife in the face. The attacker got away with Miroslav's gold necklace. "We went there to get away, not to be killed. When I saw him pull out this huge knife, I thought that was it for me and my wife," Miroslav said in an interview today, one day after returning from the trip. "All I kept thinking about was my kids who were back in the hotel sleeping and never being able to see them again." Miroslav and Nadia, along with their daughter, Oksana, 23, and son, Yuri, 17, left for Costa Rica on Dec.

Vacation over, Sonia oils Cong machinery for assembly polls

NEW DELHI: With Ms Sonia Gandhi back from her vacation, and assembly elections in three Congress-ruled states due in just over a month, the grand old party of India seems to be shifting into election gear at last. The Congress headquarters at 24, Akbar Road saw its first round of strategy meetings for Punjab, Uttarakhand, and Manipur assembly polls on Friday. Congress chief ministers of the three states were in the Capital to discuss the setting up of election-related sub-committees as well as to determine the dates of star campaigners such as the party president, prime minister Manmohan Singh and Rahul Gandhi. Though the party is faced with anti-incumbency in all states, its energies, at the moment, seem focused on minimising the inner-party rivalry generated by the ticket-seeking exercise.
